APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Substitute Teacher Requirements:

The minimum requirements for substitute teaching assignments are:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Passage of the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST)
  3. Complete certificated application with references listed
  4. Current Resume
  5. Provide current results of TB skin test
  6. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ)
  • If you meet these requirements, you may apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit.  The substitute permit is valid for a period of one year.  The Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit is obtained from the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

Paraprofessional ( Instructional Aide): 

  1. Complete application with references listed/Signed
  2. minimum of 48 college units or AA Degree (must provide copy with application
  3. Provide current results of TB skin test
  4. Abiltiy to obtain fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and FBI (GUSD provides authorization form once hired).

Classified Employee:

  1. Complete application with references on EdJoin
  2. Provide current results of TB skin test
  3. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice or FBI (GUSD provides authorization form) once hired
  4. If applying for a position that requires a typing test or DMV printout, please attach to application

Student Worker: (Currently enrolled as student in Gilroy Unified. Approval from Program Manager for hiring)

  1. Complete student employement packet
  2. Provide current results of TB skin test
  3. Provide valid work permit
