Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
All schools identified as Program Improvement (PI) years 2-5 are required to provide Supplemental Education Services (SES) to eligible students by contracting with California Department of Education approved organizations. Supplemental Education Services (SES) consist of individual or small group tutoring beyond the regular school day designed to support student achievement in reading/English language arts and/or math. Eligibility is based on participation in the National School Lunch Program. The pool of eligible students is further narrowed by targeting students in need of academic support based on the CST scores. Parents of eligible students select an SES provider from a list of CDE approved providers that express interest in serving GUSD students.
