Joint Statement for immediate release: GUSD and GTA reach a tentative agreement
GUSD Communications

Gilroy, CA – The Gilroy Unified School District (GUSD) and Gilroy Teachers Association (GTA) are pleased to jointly announce that we have reached a tentative agreement for certificated employees following an all-day, fact-finding negotiation session with a State-appointed factfinder. Details of the new contract will be available soon.

We hope that this agreement will foster a better working relationship between parties and build a pathway to future collaboration. The Gilroy Teachers Association will submit the tentative agreement for a ratification vote of its membership within the next two weeks.

“The Gilroy Unified School District is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with the Gilroy Teachers Association.  We value the work of our staff members and we look forward to improved outcomes for all students as a result of this agreement,” said Superintendent Anisha Munshi.

GTA President Caitlin Madolora said, "GTA is happy to have reached a tentative agreement with Gilroy Unified. We believe that the agreement accomplishes our goals of improving learning conditions, student and educator wellness, and recruitment and retention and will benefit all Gilroy students and educators."

The Board of Education is expected to ratify the new contract at a November 2023 Board meeting following GTA’s ratification vote of its membership.
