GUSD Communications

Joint Statement issued on behalf of the Gilroy Federation of Paraeducators and the Gilroy Unified School District

The Gilroy Federation of Paraeducators (“GFP”) and the Gilroy Unified School District are pleased to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement.

The Gilroy Federation of Paraeducators represents District employees who provide some of the most critical and one-to-one services to the children of Gilroy Unified, including translation, assessments, occupational therapy and individualized support services for students with disabilities.

The major terms of the agreement include:

  • 10.5% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2022
  • Additional health benefits contributions to cover the increased costs which went into effect on January 1, 2023
  • Realignment and renaming of special support stipends

The Gilroy Federation of Paraeducators and the Gilroy Unified School District are proud to continue to work together to offer significant increases to salary and benefits for our valued employees in GFP.  This year’s Tentative Agreement represents the single largest salary increase in the Federation’s history, adding to last year’s 7.25% salary increase.

All changes will be presented to GFP membership in a general meeting this month and will later be presented to the Board of Education on March 23, 2023.
