Mission Statement: The Gilroy Unified School District will provide opportunities for all students to reach their highest academic and intellectual competencies and personal attributes to be life-long learners responsible citizens, and productive members of society. The Gilroy Unified School District is focused on building safe and inclusive schools where the culture reflects trust, respect, empathy and accountability. The mental health and social emotional well being of our students is at the core of our instructional model. We firmly believe that the physical, mental and social-emotional well-being of children is connected to their academic achievement. This year, our priorities are:
- Create rigorous and innovative learning spaces that deepen students' conceptual understanding
- Build inclusive and safe schools that prioritize mental health and social-emotional well being of all
- Maximize resources that provide equitable student support to achieve successful post-secondary outcomes
About GUSD
The Gilroy Unified School District is located in the southernmost region of Santa Clara County. Our current student population is more than 10,500 students in grades TK - 12. The Gilroy Unified School District is the largest employer in the City. Our District benefits from many community partnerships including: the City of Gilroy, Gilroy Rotary, Gilroy Garlic Festival Association, Gavilan College, Gilroy Foundation, Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, and the Gilroy Welcome Center.
Known for its garlic fields, the agricultural areas that surround Gilroy provide a diverse array of agribusiness opportunities for its occupants. The town is home to commuters to the Silicon Valley.
